Abstract:During the past decade, there has been a plenty of discussion on direct-to-consumer advertising (DTCA) of prescription drugs related with several issues of responsibility faced by the pharmaceutical industry.
This article employs several elements of CSR, highlighting consumer autonomy and safety in order to analyse differences in DTCA practices within two different policy contexts, the United States of America (U.S.) and the European Union (EU). Thus, there results in an alternative analysis of the struggle btw. proponents and opponents of DTCA from a CSR perspective etc.
