Abstract:Supervisory responsibility is an excellent predictor of compensation in the human resources field, and there is a high correlation between the two variables. The compensation of human resources practitioners who supervise or direct the work of 10 or more high level subordinates is 45 p.c. higher than that of those people who supervise from one to four such employees. The compensation of individuals who supervise the activities of 10 or more employees is 13-19 p.c. higher than human resources professionals who direct from one to four subordinates.
