| Abstract: | The market for small electric cooking appliances in the UK are overviewed. It consists of two product sectors, deep fat fryers and slow cookers. Volume sales grew by 4 percent in 1989 but the real value of the market remained static. Growth was concentrated in the deep fat fryer sector, and further growth is expected as product innovation continues. The slow cooker sector has been static over 1985-1989. Tefal was the leading manufacturer followed by Moulinex in the deep fat fryer sector, Tower leads the slow cooker sector.
