| Abstract: | The purpose of this article is to develop a typology of work and care adaptations to enable a deeper understanding of men's work-life conflict and the means of its reconciliation. The paper is based on a sample of 102 European men from various organizations. Men's adaptations to work, care and self-realization are investigated through multiple correspondence analysis. The findings indicate that a high amount of work often translates into a low amount of care, and the other way around. However, it was also found that low-low and high-high adaptations of work-life conflict exist. Also the structured gendered division of labour, material privileges and status is discussed and analyzed. |
