Abstract:A boss who hoards information can be encouraged to change this habit. A step-by-step framework aimed at changing the behaviour of an information-hoarding boss is presented. The following nine steps are suggested: 1. rethink the reasons for the lack of information; 2. describe the information problem to the boss; 3. accept total responsibility for the problem; 4. indicate why you did not get the information; 5. state the benefits of minimizing the problem; 6. agree on a solution; 7. summarize agreed-upon solution; 8. end the meeting with positive reinforcement; 9. follow up for results.
