Abstract:Survival is the motivator, value and value-added are causes. Downsizing, right sizing and re-engineering, the effects. Corporations are waking up and cleaning house. Positions are being indiscriminately slashed at an alarming rate in an attempt to rectify years of corporate error. In the wake of the tremor are the lives and careers of many. This article demonstrates that middle management has been the most prevalent target of downsizing.
