| Abstract: | The above mentioned survey showed, that small and medium- sized enterprises (SMEs) are concerned with the globaliza- tion of markets through different dimensions. According to this concern three potential adaption strategies were studied: diversification, internationalization and competi- tive strategies. High concerned SMEs were acting at interna- tional markets more frequently and showed a higher rate of internationalization than low concerned SMEs. Furthermore, the intensity of competitive behavior rose with respect to an increasing concern to globalization. A perceived growth of this concern led to a higher intensity of all applied competitive strategies. There have been no direct connect- ions between the application resp. change of diversification strategies and the concern to globalization. |
