Abstract: | In this paper, financial integration and benefits of international diversification across U.S., Japanese (hereafter as: J.) and ASEAN (here as: A.) equity markets (as: mkt./mkts.) are empirically analyzed. The results suggest no evidence of co-integration among 1. A. mkts. 2. individual A. mkt., the U.S. and J. mkts., and 3. A. mkts., the U.S. and J. mkts. Results from impulse-response functions indicate, however, immediate responses of each A. mkt. to innovations in other A. mkts. as well as to innovations in the U.S. and J. mkts. There are also more detailed results reported. |
