Abstract: | In recent decades, the idea of focusing increasing performance has become common. This study is interested in how the focus at divisional level is related to focus at the firm level. In the research part, biopharmaceutical clinical trials are used as an example. The study draws two main conclusions. First, firms focusing on particular task perform significantly better than non-focusing firms. In addition, focus at the divisional level and firm level are found to be substitutes. |
