Abstract:Ten years ago,like many US giants,drugs manufacturer Warner - Lambert was diversifying wildly. But corporation discovered that despite its new high-growth stars (like chewing gum, mouthwash) profits had lowered,market positions and prospects had worsened. Now it has executed a complete U-turn, selling off the misfits and expanding new product R and D in antibiotics. The result: market shares have raised,profit growths have been remarkable and financial position is strong.
