| Abstract: | Lucio Tan has been procecuted by the Philippine government, lambasted as a crook, and hailed as an ethnic hero. Whatever Tan is, his fortunes are rising again. Leo Tan can afford not to worry about appearances. He is widely believed to be the country's richest tycoon. No one outside Tan's inner circle really knows what he's worth - estimates run to $8 billion since his corporate empire is one of the most secretive in the country. But you have to be rich to be that secretive. People call Tan many things, but "orthodox" isn't one of them. |
