Abstract:The present study was conducted to examine the relationship of strategy and human resource (S-HR) integration to firm performance. In addition, an attempt was made to determine if so-called fast-growth firms differed from other firms in the kinds of HR practices that they emphasized and in the level of S-HR integration that they have achieved. The study used human resource practices as both independent and dependent variables. The findings of this study provide evidence consistent with previous theory and research that firms employing different strategies or operating at different stages of development tend to emphasize different HR practices.
