Abstract:As always, information technology's principal contribution to business needs takes the form of getting the right information to the right place at the right time. In the context of a total quality program, this capability can be applied to unproven process monitoring, customer service, or production support. Information systems support the data that help define quality standards, assist in the development of quality improvement programs, monitor performance, enable more effective and efficient activities that contribute to quality, and improve and enhance the services provided to customers.
