| Abstract: | In industry, products are stored and consumed throughout the production period. Some products get spoiled if they are stored beyond certain period of time. This time limitation of life for a product is called shelf life. The storage time can be reduced by frequent replenishment of the items and reducing the inventory in the store. This may be achieved by reducing the total cycle time or the production rate. This paper focuses on deciding the best of these options. Computational results indicate that it is better to reduce the cycle time than the production rate. |
