| Abstract: | Strategic planning is a means to an end, a method used to position an organization, through prioritizing its use of resources according to identified goals, in an effort to guide its direction and development over a period of time. Current theories appear to assume that the operating environment is predominantly competitive and that a profit motive will be the driving force behind the planning requirement. The authors claim that it is the models that must be adapted rather than twisting the reality of the actual organizations. |
