| Abstract: | Much has been written about empowerment, a word which arouses passion whenever it is mentioned: whether in those who won't allow the word to be used, believing it to be just another fad disguised as a panacea; in those who insist that it is another word for delegation and has been done before. The author thinks that there is a two-way traffic at work: the individual is given autonomy and ownership in return of a commitment to act in the interests of organization. |
