| Abstract: | Reengineering of key business processes is becoming a central element of corporate and business strategies. However, little empirical data on successes and failures of reengineering is available. This article describes a study of North American financial firms. Interviews and a survey were conducted to collect information about reengineering programmes, associated strategies, management structures and barriers to success. Interesting findings emerged. For instance that projects aimed at customer service improvement, cost reduction and cycle time acceleration have different success factors. |
