Abstract:In November 1995, AMA held its Shanghai Top Management Forum. Over the next 10 years, participants predicted, we will see the recognition of China as a market in itself, the slow change to recognition of intellectual and other property rights, the beginning of understanding what marketing really is, and the need for the Chinese to know that joint venture partners are prepared to invest frankly and fully in both human and technological resources, assuming that intellectual property rights can be safeguarded.
