| Abstract: | It is well-known that the performance of a manufacturing system relies heavily on its control strategies. However, the dynamic control of such a system is very complicated because of the complex interaction among machines, material handling devices, and storage buffers. In this study a neural network-based control system is proposed to adapt different scheduling strategies dynamically for a manufacturing cell. The results show that the proposed controller performs well under the multiple criterion environments and is able to respond to changes in objectives during production. |
