| Abstract: | In this article it is demonstrated how the institutional and ecological characteristics of organizational niches affect the organizational foundings. The key institutional, ecological, organizational and spatial properties of organizational niches are measured and described. The effects of institutional and ecological processes vary both within and between for-profit and nonprofit sectors and across geographic aggregation levels. Studying multiple dimensions interactively and independently provides more comprehensive and richer treatment of the context of the organizational founding. |
