| Abstract: | Most logistics professionals are familiar with warehouse management systems (WMS). These systems can optimally direct the warehouse's day to day operations, reducing labour and significantly improving inventory and order accuracy. Can a small to medium sized warehouse now cost justify the purchase of a WMS? Do increased customer demands on the warehouse tilt the scales in favour of installing a WMS? Often ignored or undervalued, the factors described in this article can make the difference when considering the purchase of a WMS. |
