| Abstract: | Virtual organizations have received much attention in the management literature of recent years. Articles abound on the possibilities of virtual meetings, work teams, offices, factories, firms, and alliances. Very little empirical research exists on virtual organizations. We are pleased to provide readers with a compendium of six articles that advance current knowledge of communication processes for virtual organizations. The papers in this issue move forward to study how communication processes and organizational design interplay in the new, "virtual" enterprise. |
