Abstract:This article concerns corporate scandals. The authors examine corporate scandals as a social problem which organizational communication scholars can inform. Authors suggest that the theory of the firm confronts key organizational questions in contemporary scandals. Forms of scandals are read through three existing theories of the firm. These theories are economic, resource based and moral community theory. The authors argue that these models influence firm and explain the issues of meaning and process.
