Abstract:The objective of this study was to examine the cost properties of international tourist hotels in Taiwan and to find out if they operate with efficient scales, offer proper product mixes and move in a good direction. The findings show that product-spesific scale economies exist for accommodation, food, beverage and other services and ray scale economies are significantly present. Economies of scope were found in the joint production of food and beverage and other services, and also in the joint of production of accommodation and food and beverage services.
