Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to study the conceptualization and measurement of consumers perceptions about the ethics of online retailers (CPEOR), and to analyze the relationship of CPEOR, consumers' general internet expertise and positive word of mouth. 357 Spanish online shoppers are examined and the findings of the study indicate that CPEOR can be operationalized as a second-order construct that consists of four elements: security, privacy, fulfillment and non-deception. According to the results, consumers internet expertise seems to improve CPEOR. In addition, CPEOR have a significant effect on positive word of mouth.
