Abstract:Doorstep introductions of marketing interviewers were tape recorded and analyzed. Questions of effective information change are discussed. The design of the study is outlined. A model is presented about the doorstep situation. Reluctance behavior is analyzed. A statistical analysis of reluctance categories is given. Methods of influencing respondents are outlined. Questions of respondents' belief in their ability and responsibility are outlined. Strategies are presented for the right interviewing behavior. Practical examples are demonstrating the mentioned problems and techniques.
