Abstract:As a British shipbuilding conglomerate undertook to clarify the demands of management tasks concurrently with the talents available, it became evident that more help was indicated in the personnel department. Extra staff was not available, whereupon the director in charge of human resources agreed to join in the development of computerized knowledge base, which helped to tackle the job on hand.Expert systems are computer systems with knowledge of human activity able to help solve real problems.Through inbuilt rules and linkages the systems can produce judgemental decisions.
