Abstract:Job stress is a serious employment problem and interventions to manage it can be introduced through the framework of daily personnel activity. The opportunities for change occur in activities where employees are seeking ways to escape excessive stress and have a duty to interact one-on-one with a representative of the personnel department. The bureaucratic nature of most formal personnel work makes large scale action slow and even unlikely. Small changes in constructive direction can be introduced and coordinated.
