| Abstract: | An analysis of the factors affecting development, i.e. financial and tax incentives, labour and market factors, infrastructure, research and development and the extent of existing industry. One Table assesses different types of electronic companies, a second: strengths and weaknesses of individual countries, and a third: their ability to encourage the development of large companies with all functions. The author advocates a systematic government approach to support domestic industry to compete in the international marketplace. |
