Abstract:The strategic response of firms at product level - positioning of product in market - business unit level - change of strategies within market - corporate level - redefinition of firm's portfolio is attempted to analyze. The reprographic industry was chosen as a case-study because it is characterized by competition, technology change and declining market share. Leaving aside the already well-known elements of market structure influence on technology, some less known elements - such as the effect of technological change on market structure on the strategies of firms and the strategic decisions of firms on market structure - are analyzed.
