Abstract:The technical management's aim is to have influence on top management in order to make maximum benefits from technology. The following three points are the most important in this respect: 1/ the deep knowledge of customers' needs, 2/ the ability to meet them, 3/ ability to satisfy top management's claim for certainty or security. Technical experts must have competency for integrating technology into the strategy framework of the firm. The main points of design, manufacturing and information processing have to be taken into account. The psychology and management of change must be known.
