| Abstract: | The authors use the example of a steel-processing company to describe the measures by which its organizational structure was modified and the range of its corporate activities widened. The increase in the number of its activities was accompanied by corresponding measures designed to provide staff with the necessary qualifications and to support the newly-developed group oriented form of organization. The result has been a reduction of more than 50 per cent in delivery periods, a reduction in the time required to answer enquiries from 10 to 2 days, and a higher degree of satisfaction and identification with their work on the part of all employees. |
