Abstract: | For applications in which data are many or widely distributed, a Value Added Collection System (VACS) may be the answer. Data collection on disks can be a VACS in applications if the disk contains added information beyond the data collection forms and their supporting documentation. The advantages of this type of data collection are shortly reviewed. It is shown how to make periodic data collection. The case of numerous, nontechnical sources is examined. The role of systems updates and verification is discussed. Applications to a succession planning system and career development systems are mentioned. The design of paper forms for data entry is considered. |
