| Abstract: | This is an article about the political and economic situation in the Soviet Union after the coup, which wanted to put an end to a developing democracy and with it all economic reforms. It shows some of the difficulties Western investors face, but at the same time calls attention to the fact that if U.S. companies are too worried to go into business and want to wait until all problems are solved, somebody else will get the business. |
