| Abstract: | To succeed in the highly competitive biotechnology industry, companies will have to develop innovative products, processes, or technologies that can be realized within reasonably short time periods. Because capital has to be used wisely to generate sufficient returns, companies investing large sums of money in research and development are compelled to conduct rigorous a priori financial analyses to evaluate their new projects. This article shows how one biotechnology company carries out this analysis. |
