Abstract:Despite steady growth, Eurotherm's share performance is not excellent - perhaps because of the City's greater enthusiasm for companies which acquire rather than create businesses. The group's expertise is well up to meeting the demand for more sophisticated and precise electronic systems. The trouble may have its roots in Eurotherm's culture, embodied in its management team. The group consciously makes a financial sacrifice in the interests of staff motivation. There are sound reasons for Eurotherm to carry on growing. It has skills in diversification and the group is well able to compete in all world markets. Owing to its emphasis on two human attributes, brainpower and earning power, the company is as up-to-date as its technology.
