Abstract:Conventionally agriculture and masculinity are tied to each other in the USA. The study combines interviews with farm operators and participant observation at a livestock auction to examine how women do gender in a male-dominated agriculture world. According to the results women’s ability to reproduce the masculinity is the general reason behind their success as farm operators.
