| Abstract: | The main purpose of this paper is to review the pertinent literature to contrast the theoretical applicability and practical usage of NPV and IRR and to evaluate the reasons for any discrepancy. The second section compares NPV and IRR from a normative viewpoint. Because both NPV and IRR have unique advantages, researchers have attempted to combine the advantages of both. These modified methods are described in the third section. The forth section reviews existing survey studies and analyzes the empirical evidence on NPV and IRR use. |
