Abstract:This article examines the relation between psychological ownership (hereafter as: PO)and work attitudes and work behaviors. Hypotheses from literature are tested using data from three field samples, the responses consisting of both manager and peer observations of employee behaviour. The results indicate that there is a positive correlation between PO and organization (hereafter as: org.), employee attitudes, and work behavior. The increased PO also expalined variance in org.-based self esteem and org. citizenship behavior. However, Po fails to be useful in predicting employee performance.
