Abstract:Because both communication and governance mechanisms, such as integration and control, are elements that can be used to manage interfirm exchanges, an understanding of their interrelationships is important. The authors develop a model that addresses these interrelationships and examine the effects of collaborative communication on channel outcomes (the dealer's perceptions of commitment to, satisfaction with, and coordination of activities with a manufacturer) across various levels of integration and control.
