| Abstract: | The paper analyses yhe basic characteristics of the European monetary integration at its present stage, after the ratification of the Maastricht agreement on EMU (European Economic and Monetary Union) and after the pressures exercised on the European foreign exchange markets, which have shaken the EMS (European Monetary System).The problems and dilemmas of the European monetary integration are of relevance to Slovenia, since the solutions will determine the mechanisms of the European monetary integration (present EMS, reformed EMS, planned EMU, two-speed EMU) into which Slovenia will integrate when the time comes. |
