Abstract:The article is by its nature informative and offers a summary of the resolution. It is established that the resolution has two parts: an introduction and a strategic objective. The content of the article consists of an interpretation of the introduction and an interpretation of the strategic objective in 8 points. The introduction describes the stance of the Republic of Slovenia towards foreign investments, the reasons and main issues underlying the strategy, and the objectives of the strategy. It also throws light on individual aspects and principles of foreign investments. In the introduction we learn about Slovenia's positive attitude to foreign investments and its desire to become part of modern European and global processes.By doing this Slovenia would enhance its own faster development. Slovenia would also like to revise its recent attitude to foreign investments, which has been a rather passive one.It is emphasized that Slovenia, when dealing with the problem of investments, will acquire an active role with a clearly defined objective and framework and to this end will apply appropriate methods and means. The second part of the article describes the strategy. It should be pointed out that the article does not follow exactly the order of the issues dealt by the Resolution. Thus the article begins by explaining the attitude of the Republic of Slovenia towards foreign investments and lists the goals that the country pursues. It also deals with the basic principles ruling the discussion on foreign investments and the incentives for foreign investments. It further discusses and describes the forms and fields in which foreign investments are feasible as well as those in which foreign investments are not allowed or come under governmental control. The article interprets the following points of the Resolution: the advantages that Slovenia enjoys, the legislative and administrative framework (which anticipates the foundation of "one-stop" agency,)and the role that foreign investments could play in the restructuring of companies. In the conclusion the author emphasises once again the informative aspect of the article.
