Abstract:The objective of this article is to talk briefly about the process of introducing currency convertibility to Croatia, namely the convertibility of the Croatian Dinar and Kuna.We would also like to analyze some practical effects of the introduction of convertibility from both the macroeconomic and microeconomic points of view.Due to the identical formal status of the Croatian and the Slovenian currencies - with regard to Article 8 of the IMF Statute - the findings can, by analogy, apply also to the effects of the introduction of the convertibility of the Slovenian tolar. The essence of the external convertibility of current transactions is identical for all the IMF members. In the concluding remarks all the principal conclusions of the analysis are stated.
