Abstract:Based on the resource-based view the authors examine how complexity, uncertainty and munificence in the common business environment moderate the connection between a firm's stakeholder integration capability and its environmental strategy. The authors collected data on 134 ski resorts in 12 countries in Western Europe and North America. The research shows that 1. organizational capability of stakeholder integration is connected with a service firm's use of a proactive environmental strategy 2. an uncertain business environment has a direct positive effect and a complex business environment has a direct effect on a comapny's environmental strategy and 3. complexity has a negative controlling effect on the relationship between a firm's stakeholder integration capability and its environmental strategy.
