Abstract:This article reviews the literature of happiness. According to the authors corporate world should pay more attention to happiness, because firms will benefit from satisfied employees and other stakeholders. By making work meaningful, providing good health insurance and encouraging volunteerism at the work environment may far outweigh the costs. These kinds of small and quite inexpensive changes in the workplace can have a greater impact on employee happiness than offering a greater salary. Moreover, happy employees are more loyal, productive and innovative.
