Abstract:In this study, the authors show why some entrepreneurs are more innovative than others and why they find business opportunities that others do not. The individual factors affect the level of entrepreneurial innovativeness. Another major element that influences innovation activity is the environment in which the entrepreneurs work. The theoretical insights into judgment and decision making likewise the empirical evidence from 30 countries documents that there are differences between countries regarding truly innovative and imitative activities. According to the results, the entrepreneurial innovativeness is more common than pure imitation in developed countries.
