| Abstract: | These days, we are in desperate need of intelligent and thoughtful dialogue. A preeminent provider is C. Handy, best known for his books "The age of unreason", "The gods of management" and, most recently, "Beyond certainty: the changing world of organizations". He understands that people are anxious and confused in a world gone mad. But he is unflinching in his belief that societies and organizations must profoundly change or they will not endure. The traditional corporation will become a memory and the portable career, what he calls the porfolio worker, will be the norm. |
