| Abstract: | Consumers spent £320 mn on garden chemicals in 1997 which is 12% of the total household outlay on garden products. The forecast for chemicals is to retain their market share of all garden sales. The major change will be the arrival of more hybrid products which offer the qualities of the best composts, fertilisers and pest controls. The trend is to organic gardening, opening opportunities for non-chemical products and methods, will continue gradually. |
