Abstract:Most of modern global strategy focuses on minimizing differences btw. countries. Maybe it's time to dust off approaches that exploit those differences as well. Correctly choosing how much to adapt a model is certainly important for extracting value from international operations. Arbitrage gets little attention as a global strategy. This partly reflects the tendency of companies to equate size with global presence. This article considers each type of arbitrage to examine both the traditional and less obvious ways companies can apply arbitrage strategies to exploit differences. Cultural arbitration can be applied to newer products and services.
