| Abstract: | A review of types of financial guarantees, their source and principles of International Chamber of Commerce rules concerning the availability of funds, in the event of a party, inviting a tender or awarding a contract, having a legitimate claim against the tenderer of the contract. The study also examines the risk and cost involved with guarantees, UK and overseas practice, types of guarantees, ICC rules, bond support. Four appendixes give forms of tender bond, performance guarantee, advance payment and form of parent company guarantee. |
